An interrogation site must be registered with PTAGIS before any interrogation data collected there can be loaded into the database. When a site is registered with PTAGIS, details that are relatively static, or slowly changing, are recorded for that site. As those details change through time, a history of those changes is kept. PTAGIS also collects diagnostic data that is output by the PIT tag detection devices and other field equipment co-located at the interrogation site location. This document describes these various types of metadata, how they are stored within PTAGIS, and how they can be viewed by PTAGIS users.
Interrogation site metadata can be broadly split into two categories: slowly changing information that must be maintained manually and constantly changing information that is reported automatically.
