Interrogation Sites > Slowly Changing Metadata Identification |
An interrogation site is primarily identified with a unique 3-character site code. This code cannot change and all metadata and observation data associated with a site is linked to it through that site code. In addition to the site code, PTAGIS also maintains a site name, the type of facility that is being monitored by that site, and a written description of the site.
With the exception of site Code, these values can change over time, but the history of changes is not maintained. The values are available to query through the reporting system alongside observation data.
