In-river detection system located at river km 72 (USCG Navigation Marker 59) in the Columbia River Estuary. The array (PD8) consists of five 8ft x 20ft antennas (3 upstream, 1 in-line, and 1 downstream of the dike) and is operated by NOAA Fisheries, targeting detections of migrating juvenile and adult salmonids. The array (PD8) was moved and updated on 4/22/2024 and includes a Biomark IS1001 transceiver with an individual IS1001 reader assigned to each antenna. A 3-panel solar array is affixed to an electronics barge moored behind the main pilings along the downstream side of the dike. The barge also contains the battery bank, remote communication (via cellular modem), and other components. Antenna groups are based on orientation relative to the pile dike, with numbering starting at the antennas closest to shore. We intend to operate this site annually from March through September. This site was originally installed in March 2023 at river km 82 with four 8ft x 20ft and two 8ft x 10ft antennas.
