Stream Tag Research & Environmental Analysis Monitoring Systems Subcommittee
The PIT Tag Steering Committee (PTSC) established a Subcommittee (the Subcommittee) to provide technical guidance for instream PIT tag detection systems operation and maintenance to the PTSC and PTAGIS while ensuring the data integrity of the PTAGIS database is not compromised. Note: The Subcommittee was initially called the Instream PIT Tag Detection (IPTDS) Subcommittee, but was changed to the Stream Tag Research & Environmental Analysis Monitoring Systems (STREAMS) Subcommittee in 2024.
The purpose of the Subcommittee is to:
- Provide technical guidance for the installation, operation, and maintenance of IPTDS.
- Establish and update system specifications to assure integrity and continuity of data.
- Coordinate training for IPTDS site stewards and other field personnel.
- Facilitate webinars or forums on data analysis topics to ensure comparable methodologies and results from IPTDS sites.
- Provide coordinated recommendations through the PTSC to appropriate agencies on activities and programs that further the PTSC's goals.
- Identify and discuss policy issues with the PTSC for resolution.
