LWC - Lower Wenas Creek
Status: Active - OperationalGeneral Operational Period: Year Round
Start Date: 2/27/2018 12:00 AM
LWC is located in Wenas Creek about 2 RKMs upstream of the confluence with the Yakima River on property owned by the Bureau of Reclamation. The site was constructed, installed and maintained by a collaborative effort between Yakama Nation Fisheries, Bureau of Reclamation and USFWS. The site consists of three 20 ftx 8ft pass-through antennas that span the entire channel under most flow conditions. Antennas and IS1001s are separated 8 ft and are connected using hydrovolt plugs. Pelican cases secure each IS1001 ACN on the left bank. IS1001s are daisy chained together with CAN bus cable and hydrovolt plugs. One CAN bus cable is connected to ACN #3 and is ~60 ft in length. An IS1001 MTS is used to receive data from ACNs and is housed inside of a metal job box. Solar panels and a 210 Ah battery bank are used to power the site.

Operational History
Operational history describes the period the site was interrogating for PIT tags. The comments provide anecdotal information about the operation of the site during this period. Site operational periods are updated typically at the end of the calendar year.

Configuration
Configuration metadata includes details about the equipment used at the site to detect and record PIT tags. A new configuration sequence record is created when equipment is added or removed from the site and the period of time it was active. A configuration sequence without an End Date is currently active.

Sometime on April 7th the charge controller for LWC stopped working. At 14:14, the site was no longer recording test tags and the site was down. Batteries and charge controller were replaced on April 18th. |
1/6/2020 2:16:20 PM | General | LWC started losing power on 11-1-2019. The site was shut down while repairs were made to the solar panels and wiring. Power was fully restored on 1/6/2020 and the MC began collecting data. |
2/14/2019 10:07:35 AM | General | On 1/11/2018, LWC began experiencing temporary gaps in data due to dropping voltage levels. Current weather patterns are most likely the culprit. This problem should resolve itself soon as solar hours are on the rise. |
12/18/2018 4:09:09 PM | General | On 12/18/2018 at 2:05 PM, antenna 3 was fixed and added back into sequence. Also, a different grounding configuration was installed improving antenna noise levels allowing for antenna 1 to also be placed back into sequence. |
8/11/2018 7:00:00 PM | General | On 8/11/2018 at 7:23 PM, Antenna 3 was disconnected. Antenna 3 will be fixed by February of 2019. Antenna 2 is still functioning properly. |
2/27/2018 4:00:00 PM | General | At this time, LWC began operations. Antenna 1 experienced high noise levels and was removed from sequence on 3/1/2018 at 6:00 PM. There are plans to work on alleviating these noise levels in February of 2019. Antennas 2 and 3 have complete pass-through fields. |
