A Brief Summary of NOAA Fisheries PIT Tag Technology Advancements

This talk will cover the advancements in PIT technology and applications since the last PIT conference in 2015. I will touch on some topics ranging from improvements in reader technology to cable antennas, and highlight some of the projects NOAA has recently completed. The highlights will include Lower Granite Spillway detection and the associated equipment developed for that project. I will touch on advancements in antenna design and how we have used those advancements in some interesting applications in the Columbia River estuary and elsewhere. Finally, I will provide a summary of the current goals of the BPA funded R&D project.
