Configuration

To open the configuration for a connected M5 Monitor Service, select Tools > Edit Configuration from the Menu Bar. After a new installation, the Site Configuration will be empty as shown in Figure 13. The system cannot start monitoring until the System and Transceivers configurations are valid and complete.

Selecting the Transceiver tab will display the settings for all configured transceivers (Figure 14). After a new install there will not be any transceivers configured. If the transceiver configuration is empty, pressing the Set Default button in the upper right corner will initiate a download of site configuration metadata from the PTAGIS server and fill in default transceiver settings (if the machine is connected to the internet).

This downloaded metadata is based upon the configured Site Code from the System tab. The communication ports for each transceiver or controller must be configured manually as they are machine dependent and not stored in metadata on the PTAGIS server.

Changes to configuration values are not saved until the Save button is pressed in the lower right corner of the dialog (Figure 13). Pressing the Cancel button on the dialog will dismiss any changes to the configuration. If the M5 Monitor Service is running while changes to the configuration are made and saved, the site monitoring services will need to be restarted before the configuration changes will take effect (an alert will display as a reminder to do so).

NOTE: site configuration is stored in a folder on the local system using the name of the machine as part of the file name. Changing the machine name may impact any cached site configuration as M5 will no longer find it under the previous name.
