Alert Viewer

The M5 Monitor Service will signal any alert conditions to an already connected M5 Control Panel or immediately when a new connection is made. An alert indicator is displayed at the bottom right corner of the Status Bar indicating the connected M5 Monitor Service has one or more alert messages as shown in Figure 11. Typically, a status light will appear red, or faulted, in the Service Status Panel for the site monitoring service that produced the alerts. M5 can be configured to email critical alerts to a specified email address. Critical alerts are triggered when communications to transceivers cannot be made when the M5 Monitor Service is started.

Clicking on the View Alerts button on the Status Bar will display all the current alerts for the connected M5 Monitor Service (Figure 12). Clicking Export will export the alerts to a text file which can be sent to PTAGIS for support. Closing this dialog will preserve these alerts. Pressing Clear All will clear the alert messages and reset the alert status on the M5 Control Panel back to normal operations.

NOTE: the number of alerts stored with an M5 Monitor Service is fixed at 1000 and older alerts will be replaced by newer alerts when this threshold is reached.

Alerts and other information are also logged to a text file, See the System Logs topic for more information.
