Sherman Creek State Fish Hatchery
The Sherman Creek Hatchery, operated by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), is located 3 miles west of Kettle Falls, Washington, on Lake Roosevelt (Northeastern Washington). The hatchery was built in 1991 and currently serves as a rainbow trout and kokanee rearing facility as well as the principal white sturgeon spawning hatchery.The intent of this project is to work with the Lake Roosevelt artificial production projects to provide readily accessible sport and Tribal subsistence fisheries that are compatible and beneficial to the ecological conditions in Lake Roosevelt and Banks Lake (Grand Coulee Dam impoundments).
