The Data Viewer shows real-time data messages collected since the M5 Control Panel was connected to an M5 Monitor Service. New messages are automatically added to the bottom and the view is scrolled upwards. Use the Scroll Lock menu feature to toggle automatic scrolling. When the number of messages reach a predefined limit, the older messages are removed so the new messages can be added.
Right-clicking on the Source or Message column headers presents features to enable filtering of the data messages currently displayed in the Data Viewer. The filter shown in Figure 9 will only show data from transceiver 01 so the user can focus on just that output. The Filter Status bar at the bottom of the Data Viewer reminds the user that it is currently filtered and allows quick disabling, editing or the selection of a previous filter.

Right-clicking any column header and selecting Show Search Panel will display the Search Panel feature shown in Figure 10. Typing a value into the search box will quickly find and highlight all messages (in any column) starting with that value. The search term is case insensitive, e.g. Test = test. Searching will stop scrolling of new data unless it matches the search term. Searching can also be combined with filtering described in the previous paragraph. Click on the X inside the search box to clear any current search. Click on the X outside of the search box to clear the search and close the panel.

NOTE: Filtering and searching are limited to only the messages currently displayed in the Data Viewer upon connection to the M5 Monitor Service. Therefore, searching for a tag code from a previous day or week at a large interrogation site will fail since those related messages were recorded before the M5 Control Panel was connected to the M5 Monitor Service. Filters and searches will remain set between sessions.
