Measurement Validation

In an effort to better validate on Length and Weight values, Measurement Validation has been added to P5. This validation runs along with Session validation in Record Management and Session Management and checks each record based on SRR Code, Life Stage and Length or Weight. Default Validation is used unless a species-specific validation exists for the SRR Code. At installation, the only species-specific validation values are for green and white sturgeon. Users can add their own species-specific validation and PTAGIS can also add ranges for common species.

 

 

This table shows the minimum and maximum length values that exist in P5 at installation. These can be changed and additional species can be added. Validation uses these values to check each record and will trigger a warning if the Length is outside the Minimum and Maximum values. For example, if a record has SRR Code = 13H (Hatchery Fall Chinook), Life Stage = Juvenile and Length < 50, a validation warning will be triggered.

Validation uses these values to check each record and will trigger a warning if the Weight is outside the minimum and maximum values. For example, if a record has SRR Code = 13H (Hatchery Fall Chinook), Life Stage = Adult and Weight < 300, a validation warning will be triggered.
