Features Under Consideration |
|
The following features are under consideration for addition to P5. Please review these and provide your comments or suggestions on how these would be useful or not useful to you.
Support for Multi-User Central Database
•This feature will allow for multiple users running P5 on their local computers to connect to a centrally maintained P5 database so that all users on the same network can view and work with the same set of data. If one user has a Session open in Data Management it will be locked and other users will be unable to open or edit that Session until it is closed by the first user. Data Entry features are disabled when connected to central database, so it can only be used for viewing/editing sessions, submitting sessions to PTAGIS, or querying sessions.
Data Synchronization Tool
•A tool to copy data from a field computer to an office computer, instead of exporting and importing files
Custom Validation During Data Entry
•P5 already supports custom validation post data entry the same as it was in P4. This feature would allow custom validations to be enabled for data entry so that a warning/error could be displayed to the user while a fish is in-hand.
Import of Previously Submitted Files Directly from PTAGIS
•This would allow the user to either enter a File Name and download it directly from PTAGIS from with P5, or browse files by Project Code and Year to select one or more file to download directly. Could also be used to download files that require action - either they were rejected or have duplicate records, or some other issue.
Configuration Tool Library
•This feature could be used to upload and store configuration tools in PTAGIS. There are a few ideas of how this could be useful:
•User could upload configuration to PTAGIS from central computer and then download it to one or more field computers
•Configuration could be shared with the PTAGIS community so others could see examples of tools used in specific scenarios
Duplicate Mark Record Search in PTAGIS
•This tool would allow the user to search PTAGIS for tag codes that already have Mark records in a specified local P5 session. This would allow you to find potential Mark Duplicate records before you submit the data to PTAGIS.
