EVENT LOG FOR SITE WSH The first line of each entry contains a date/time stamp & who is reporting. The most recent entry is listed first. Date Time Who ---------- ----- -------- 11/02/2011 07:40 David The fish ladder at Warm Springs NFH is scheduled to be "closed" on November 15th 2011 for maintenance and winterization. Bar gates will be removed so that adult fish can pass upstream of the barrier dam without passing through the fish ladder. During this time, adult fish will NOT be passing through the WSH PIT antenna array. Interrogation files will continue to be automatically uploaded to PTAGIS but there will be NO detection capability. It is anticipated that the ladder will be reopened, and PIT detection capabilities will resume sometime in Janurary of 2012. Historically, very few adult fish (primarily steelhead) are know to pass upstream of the barrier dam duriing December and January. 02/16/2011 13:19 David The Warm Springs NFH adult ladder was watered up for the year on February 15, 2011. All adult-sized upstream migrating fish must pass through the ladder and PIT antenna array. Juvenile fish and some mini-jacks may be able to pass upstream through a separator gate without passing the WSH PIT antenna. On February 4, 2011 hatchery staff were doing routine cleaning of the fish ladder. Two PIT tags (codes 3D9.1C2C4FDA16 and 3D9.1C2C4FF1E2) that were apparently embedded in debris at the bottom of the ladder were washed downstream through the WSH PIT array, detected by the antennas, and uploaded as part of the WSH11035.C interrogation file. These detections ARE NOT valid fish detections. The tags in question were in adults that migrated upstream over Bonneville Dam and into the hatchery holding ponds in 2010. The tags likely fell out of adult salmon at some point during broodpond holding or spawning at the hatchery. We are working with PTAGIS to determine whether these detections should be removed from the database. 01/01/2011 00:00 PTOC_Bot Annual log file initiation for WSH #### End of Event Log for WSH ###
