EVENT LOG FOR SITE RZF The first line of each entry contains a date/time stamp & who is reporting. The most recent entry is listed first. Date Time Who ---------- ----- -------- 12/18/2007 12:15 scottl Satelite communications were lost due to snow and ice build up on the sat dish. As a temporary fix, a thick mill plastic bag was wrapped around the dish and tied tought so that any build up would sluff off the dish. A dish heater is on order and will be installed asap and should prevent this from happening again. While onsite, performed GMC, no problems to report. 12/18/2007 07:22 Scott_Li Big Brother indicates that the entire network is unavailable and has not been for ~ over 3 hrs. All attempts to access the data collection computers were unsuccessful. Will follow up and get resolution to the problem. 12/12/2007 08:24 Darren Mark Johnstone contacted PSMFC in regards to the file gap and confirmed that there was a power outage that was generated by the BOR during a switch over of power. The power was switched from grid power to the power generated by the Terrace heights power house. The outage lasted a litlle more than 2 hours. 12/12/2007 07:47 Alan No data exist to fill the 01:56:00 gap in data on 12-11-2007. The cause is presumed to be a power outage sometime between 09:00 and 10:00 on that day. We will attempt to confirm the cause of the data gap. 12/05/2007 12:25 Darren PSMFC was on site today to perform a site GMC, install YIN spare transceiver on detection system 03, verify operations after the new isolation transformer was installed and power was applied to the PITtag systems from the new transformer. The transceivers were without power for approxiamtely 1 hr (from 10:42 - 11:42) and were cycled a few times after the transformer power was initiated. 11/29/2007 12:35 Darren_C The satellite system was down for a short period of time more than likely due to the weather. It is now on line and I PCA'd into the site and submitted the rzf07333.C1 manually. 11/28/2007 12:46 Alan Manually pushed RZF07332.D1 to PTAGIS via PCA. 11/26/2007 09:39 Don_Warf Site operations have caused power spikes that damaged transceivers last week. We are currently working with the BOR and YIN to install power regulation equipment. Until that equipment is installed we will run on 2 antennas. 11/24/2007 17:05 Dave All three transceivers were knocked out of commission for 46.5 hours, between 16:18 on Nov. 22 and 14:54 on Nov. 24. No detection data of any kind is available for this 46.5-hour interval. Transceivers #01 and #03 failed sometime after 04:30 on Nov. 22. Transceiver #02 failed after 16:18 on Nov. 22. Alan replaced transceivers #01 and 02 on Nov. 24, and they reported their first timer tag detection at 14:54. 11/24/2007 15:03 Alan Arrived onsite and found all three transceiver UPSs emitting a constant tone. I pressed the power buttons to reset them and the green LED showed they were working fine. The transceivers were still not able to power up. The power input fuses (250V/5A) were blown on all three xcvrs. Replacing these did not help as something catastrophic had happened to each xcvr. They will be taken back to Kennewick for repair. I was able to replace xcvrs 01 and 02. They are online and taking data. Xcvr 03 will be replaced at the next opportunity. 11/19/2007 08:07 Darren PSMFC in response to a problem notification for file loading discovered that BB indicated that the router and both PC's were not connected. I was able however to PCA into the site and send the files to PTAGIS. After checking the logfile for activity there was no indication of any power failures or any indications on the PC side that there were any direct causes for this failure. 11/19/2007 07:35 Scott_Li The site is not loading files and BB reports that the router and the PC's cannot be pinged. The problem is being resolved. 11/16/2007 17:13 Dave pcA'd in and grabbed outstanding RZF07320.D1 file. Updated etc/sites to enable site-checking. 11/15/2007 08:02 Darren I spoke with Mark Johnstone this morning and he confirmed that the ladder was de-watered on Tuesday in the morning and will not be watered back up intil sometime Friday or at the latest Saturday morning. 11/15/2007 08:00 Alan Manually pushed RZF07318.H1 through RZF07319.B1 to PTAGIS via PCA. File load issues were traced to an incomplete file transfer, leaving the .zip file in the TEMP folder. 11/14/2007 12:48 Scott_Li Modified the BB hosts file and Site I/P table to reflect the new addressing changes 11/14/2007 11:22 Troy PC2 was changed to 1 hour files to minimize patch files. 11/14/2007 11:04 Troy At the site to setup a network and VPN tunnel. During this time PC1 had to be reboot and was taken out of data collection for ~1 hour. PC2 was running in data collection while PC1 was being configured. No data was observed on PC2 as the fish ladder is de-watered. PSMFC will try and confirm when the ladder went down and when it is expected to come back up. All the outstanding files on PC2 were archived (170 files). The times for PC1 and PC2 were ~20min ahead of atomic time. Both PC's were set to atomic time. The file gap surounding RZF07307.C1 was confirmed to be the result of a power outage. 11/08/2007 17:17 PTOC_Bot I updated the current site configurations for PRO, RRF, RZF, SUJ, and WFF to identify these as "main" sites. Effective with the IDL run at 6PM tonight, the obs_main table will be populated and updated with detections at these sites. 11/05/2007 07:50 Troy Attempted to retrieve RZF07307.C1 via PCA. The file was not in the 'data' or 'archive' directory. There currently is no access to PC2 so we cannot verify if it was a power outage or not. More info will be posted once the site is visited and this is investigated. 11/02/2007 08:35 Dave Mark Johnston reports that the ladder watered up (sometime) on October 26. I've updated the obs_site_dates table to report this as the start of interrogation activity at RZF. 10/25/2007 14:25 Dave All PIT tag detections at RZF prior to on-line reporting have been recorded to PTAGIS as "recapture" events, in DPM07253.RZF. 10/24/2007 14:34 Dave The RZF computer platform began collecting and reporting detection data at 1:32pm (PST) on October 24. 10/23/2007 12:20 scottl Mark Johnston reports that the ladder will be down starting October 22 for 4 day's due to seasonal maintenance on the dam. Suspect that the ladder will continue operation somewhere on or around the 25th. Will monitor and report back when system resumes normal operation. 09/20/2007 13:28 Scott_Li This entry is for Sept.19th . Travel to the site and downloaded all buffered information. Data was then sent to Dave Marvin for further analysis. The buffers were cleared after the download. Next buffer dump scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 27th. 09/20/2007 12:38 Darren_C A stick test was performed by PSMFC on Thursday 9-13-07. There were two kinds of tags used for the test the older "BE" type and some new "SGL" type. Several passes were made through each antenna. The test concluded at 12:05. The antennas are performing well with both tag types. 09/10/2007 13:41 scottl@p The 2nd phase of the project was completed on Friday, Sept 7th. 2007. This includes installation of the antennas, transceivers and associated cabling, electrical etc. The ladder was watered up at 10:15 am PST and data collection began at 11:30 am PST. The data is only being collected in the buffers of the transceivers and will be downloaded every 2 weeks or so until the final stage of the project is completed. The final stage includes installation of the fiber optic cable back to the PIT tag room, installation of the data collection platform and means of communication for data transfer. ink.mail2web.com/Business/Exchange 08/31/2007 14:17 Alan This is a test message sent from the ‘legacy’ web interface. It should be deposited in the top-level directory of the RZF Events forum. 08/30/2007 00:00 PTOC_Bot Initial log creation for RZF. #### End of Event Log for RZF ###
