Date Time Who ---------- ----- -------- 07/20/2011 12:37 Greg Interrogation Event Log for Rohlfing's 2011 Location code: RFP Antenna .A0 at site RFP (Rohlfing's Pond) was installed March 17, 2011 at approximately 12:30. The upper antenna was installed first and located at the outflow of the pond. A seine net was installed across the pond to separate two species of fish, steelhead and coho. Juvenile steelhead were transferred to the pond on March 22 and juvenile coho were transferred to the pond on March 24. On March 30 at approximately 15:00, a rain on snow event compromised the equipment and the detection system .A0 was removed. The water level breached the barrier net at both release channels, resulting in fish escaping the pond without detection, an estimated 11.7% and 0.5% for steelhead and coho, respectively. The barrier net that separated the steelhead and coho was also breached, resulting in some intermingling of species. The detection system .A0 at the outflow was reinstalled on April 4 at approximately 09:30. On April 26, two more antennas were installed in the release channel to Nason Creek; one was put in approximately 50m downstream of the pond outlet, .BO, and the other approximately another 10m further downstream, .C0. Antenna .C0 was new to 2011. Juvenile steelhead and coho were both volitionally released; steelhead beginning on 5/2 followed up by coho on 5/14. Data was collected on upper, middle and lower antennas through June 30, when the pond was determined to be empty. Below are detailed operation logs for all three detection systems. Upper Antenna .A0: Due to an unknown antenna malfunction the upper system was inactive for a total of 1 day prior to release, from approximately 20:00 on 4/23 to 20:00 on 4/24. Post release the system was inactive for a total of 3 days; from approximately 16:00 on 5/11 to 10:00 on 5/12, from approximately 06:00 to 12:00 on 5/13, and approximately 00:01 to 10:00 on 5/16. Middle Antenna .B0: Unknown malfunctions caused the system to go inactive for a total of 4 days. The system was inactive between approximately 05:00 on 5/4 and 06:00 on 5/5. The system was inactive between approximately 03:30 on 5/7 and 15:00 on 5/8, and again between approximately 04:00 on 5/9 and 18:00 on 5/10. On 5/12 the system was inactive between 06:00 and 21:00. Lower Antenna .C0: Due to equipment failure and maintenance the system did not record data for a total of 7 days. Antenna .C0 was inactive between 06:30 on 5/5 and 21:00 on 5/9. The system was also inactive between 06:00 and 21:00 on 5/12, and between 05:00 on 5/27 and 20:00 on 5/28. The shut down times between 5/5 and 5/12 can be attributed to solar chargers not receiving enough sunlight to properly charge the batteries. 01/01/2011 00:00 PTOC_Bot Annual log file initiation for RFP #### End of Event Log for RFP ###
