Coos Watershed Association
The Coos Watershed Association is a local non-profit organization formed in late 1993 as one of Oregon's first watershed councils. Our mission is to provide a framework to coordinate and implement proven management practices, and test promising new management practices, designed to support environmental integrity and economic stability for communities of the Coos Watershed. As an early (2008) adopter of 8mm PIT tags and estuarine antenna arrays, our group has used PIT tag mark recapture methods to augment our Life Cycle Monitoring project funded by OWEB. In 2015 we transitioned to HDX technology and will work with ODFW collaborators to integrate our PIT data to facilitate comparative analyses of ESA listed coastal ESU coho salmon movements and migrations.
