There are  three features or changes that I would like to see in P4:
    1.  Increase maximum records per tag file from 9,999 to 99,999 (or more, if possible).

    2.  The ability to give the underlying P3.MDB file different names and be able to switch between the MDB files within the program.

    3.  The ability to select which fields are displayed in the "detail view".  (During the PTAGIS Info Session 2014, John mentioned that this feature will be part of P4)

Thanks for the feedback Ryan (and thanks for using Forums!).
All great suggestions and I'm confident we can provide those features with P4

I work on the on the Imnaha River juvenile screw trap. We are a Fish Passage Center, Smolt Monitoring Program trap. Our data entry and upload procedure is quite convoluted. It involves entering the majority of our target catch data into P3, entering our incidental catch into another program, merging these files, uploading them to a SQL Server database, converting the file format to .xml, then uploading the data to fish passage center.

I think it would be beneficial to our project and many others if we were able to enter our incidental catch directly into P4. While entering records into P4 I would like to be able to dot out the Tag Code field and enter my own user defined species code, e.g. BS for small-mouth bass. Like the user defined fields you are including in P4 these records would not be uploaded to PTAGIS but would be available locally and we would have a single integrated catch file immediately after our tagging operations.

Yes - we'll do our best to promote this scenario in P4 so that users can enter dot-outs for incidental catch and update project-defined fields. The sessions can have an upload feature where dot-outs can be ignored during upload to PTAGIS. You can also export the dot-out records (along with tag records) to a CSV or other formatted file that includes the project-specific metadata to import into other systems.

Let me know if I've missed anything. I appreciate the feedback.
